FAQ

Straight answers on pricing, licensing, insurance, booking, and how job-captain continuity actually works on move day.

Estimates go out same-day, written by Gavin himself — nobody at a call center reads your Bothell move off a screen and passes it along.

Answers to what customers ask most before booking with 2 Brothers Moving Services. Don’t see your question below? Call (425) 318-6642 and Naomi or one of the brothers can answer it directly.

Are you a real moving company, or do you just match me with a mover?
We're a real, licensed moving company — Owen and Gavin Larkin own six trucks and run every job with our own crew of ten. We don't hand your information off to a network of unaffiliated carriers, and we don't subcontract to day labor. The estimate you get is from the same company that shows up on move day.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Bothell and run local moves throughout King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties, including Kenmore, Woodinville, Kirkland, Redmond, Lynnwood, and Everett. We also run long-distance routes out of Bothell to cities like Spokane, Portland, Boise, and Sacramento.
How much does a local move cost?
Local moves are billed hourly: $145/hr for a 2-mover crew, $189/hr for 3 movers, and $233/hr for 4 movers, plus $44/hr for each additional mover. Larger households of four bedrooms or more often qualify for a flat rate between $2,200 and $2,950 instead.
How much does a long-distance move cost?
It depends on the route and the weight of your household goods, but most long-distance moves out of Bothell run roughly $650 to $3,900. We weigh and price the job before the truck leaves, so the number doesn't change once you're on the road.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — 2 Brothers carries Washington household-goods authority and US DOT/MC authority on file for interstate routes, plus liability and cargo insurance on every truck. Basic released-value coverage rides free on every job, and Gavin can add full replacement-value coverage during your estimate.
What does "the same brother who quotes it runs it" actually mean?
Whichever brother — Owen or Gavin — walks your home and writes the estimate is the same brother on your crew on move day. We don't hand your file to a crew that's never seen the house, which is the exact problem both of them left their old jobs over.
How do I book, and what's the deposit?
Call (425) 318-6642 or submit the quote form, get a date and a written estimate, and put down a $150 deposit to hold the day. The deposit comes off your final bill.
Do you offer short-term storage between move-out and move-in?
Yes — we store loads in our own Bothell warehouse rather than subleasing space elsewhere, with flat monthly rates from $99 for a studio up to $245 for a four-bedroom household.

What 2 Brothers Moving Services Does Differently Than Most Bothell Movers

Washington-Licensed, Ready For Any State Line We Cross

We hold our own WA household-goods authority, and our US DOT and MC numbers are already on file for anything that leaves the state — a same-day job inside Bothell or a haul out toward Spokane or Portland, the paperwork’s done before the truck backs out of the yard.

Every Move Insured Before The First Box Goes On

Basic released-value coverage rides free on every job, and Gavin can add full replacement value on the estimate visit if you want the higher payout ceiling locked in before move day That’s the whole conversation — we don’t tack on a coverage upsell once your things are already loaded.

Whoever Quotes Your Move Is Who Shows Up To Run It

Owen or Gavin writes your estimate personally, and whichever brother quoted the job leads your crew on moving day — not a stranger matched up by dispatch. Naomi runs the schedule out of our Bothell office, and crew chiefs Marcus and Sadie round out a six-truck, ten-person crew that’s all on our own payroll.

A Live Tracking Link Before The Truck Leaves Our Lot

Whichever brother wrote your estimate is the one Naomi has on the schedule to run it — not whoever’s free that morning. By November the crew’s already doubling up moving blankets and running shrink wrap against the rain, with the truck ramp tarped before a single box goes up it.

Two Brothers, One Line, No Middleman

You’re talking to one of two people who actually own the trucks. Gavin writes most estimates himself; Owen covers the rest — either way, your number usually lands in your inbox before he’s left your street.
